As of 27 April 2011
This year will be bigger than 2009 and 2010, and should be the best year since the lake last filled in 1974-76.  The rain events in areas of the Lake Eyre catchment from the remnants of Cyclone Yasi [...]

I don’t usually display guest comments as their own post, but this one was just lovely!
“Hi,
I just wanted to let everyone know what a fantastic weekend we had at Moolooloo!
Lisa and Keith are the perfect hosts!
While the whole Flinders Ranges is magnificent, I’d have to say Moolooloo is the most amazing location in the region (particularly at [...]

We are really getting a bit clever now and have installed up to date availability calendars on the www.moolooloo.com website.  Hopefully this will help you plan your upcoming trip to the Flinders with an added element of certainty (regarding dates at least!).
There are separate calendars for Blinman Hut and the Shearer’s Quarters. You will find them on the [...]

After surviving 3 weeks of 40+ degrees, the after affect of cyclone Yasi was 160mls of rain at Moolooloo over 4 days.  By Sunday we were rugged up in jumpers and trackies! Crazy weather conditions. Here are a few snaps for your enjoyment. Shearing had to be put back a week, but can’t really complain as it’s [...]

Get out to your local newsagent and get yourself a copy of this months RM Williams Outback Magazine (Issue 75, Feb/Mar 2011).
In it is a lovely article, ‘Wide Range’, by Liz Harfull about Ian and Di Fargher of Angorichina Station, East of Blinman. You may also spot some other Blinman locals amongst the glossy snaps!
A link to an excerpt of [...]

A very big THANKYOU goes out to the Mitsubishi 4WD club for the enormous amount of work they have done at Moolooloo again this year.  Along with spraying wheel cactus and stabilising a wall in an old building, they erected 3 new verandah’s on the Shearer’s Quarters (see pictures below).  They are a lovely group of [...]

It is a truly  fantastic experience that I would thorougly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The children loved it too. We asked the friendly guides [...]

We had been listening keenly to weather reports for the past week or so, never knowing whether the forecasters would get it right?!  Yesterday morning we spotted a flock of around 30 Ibis’ on the side of a hill not [...]

Now we know it has been a long time between drinks, but this picture is truly worthy of a photo point update! We received around 43mls here overnight and early this morning. It’s the biggest flood we’ve seen down these creeks in a long while.  All smiles up here (apart from the odd grimace at [...]
