Flinders Ranges B&B Accommodation, SA
We had been listening keenly to weather reports for the past week or so, never knowing whether the forecasters would get it right?! Yesterday morning we spotted a flock of around 30 Ibis’ on the side of a hill not too far from the homestead, we thought this was a good sign.
The weather that morning was warm and sunny with no cloud to be seen.
By around lunch time that had all changed, we recieved 125mls or 5 inches up until 9am this morning. Today it has been lightly showering on and off all day, accompanied by a ferocious, bitterly cold wind. I managed to brave the elements to get a load of wood and take a few snaps for you all to see. It really is looking lovely up here at the moment. The house creek has been running since lunchtime yesterday and has now slowed to a steady flow, all the gutters are running clear water and everything looks lush and green! You will notice the two show ponies (pardon the pun), Belinda and Jackie, who wanted in on the action, they are loving all this feed and as you can see they are as fat as whales!!
Nice to be able to report some good news, I hope everyone has been getting some rain (even those of you in Adelaide who are sick of it – just think your catchments are filling fast!!)

You tell a good story, Lisa!
I last saw water flowing -to the extent where you got your trousers rolled up and waded in it -in creeks in the Ranges when I hiked and camped there in my uni days forty years ago. I’m dying to get to a good creeek in the next few weeks. Hope you weren’t flooded in the last day or so. Peter

Hi Peter,
Sorry for the late reply! The rain was amazing and we still have water sitting in the creeks in places. Hoping for another drop this week. Hope you found a creek to wade in, the kids enjoyed swimming in the waterholes here for a good few weeks!
Cheers,
Lisa
