We just got back from a 10-day Flinders Ranges trip. WE LOVE ORROROO and if we could we would move there tomorrow! It’s got everything you need, it’s easily accessible from Adelaide and close to both the southern and central Flinders Ranges. First thing we did (after a few well deserved afternoon drinks in the pub – we had been driving down from Arkaroola on the same day!!) was doing some shopping. I really like buying stuff from these small and specialised local shops (and can’t understand why tourists always stock up all their supplies at home before they go somewhere!). The local butcher in Orroroo is great and we got some really nice lamb chops and garlic sausages for a nice barbie. Combined with some fresh bread from the local bakery, salads from the local store and veggie place, a bottle of nice red from the local pub – what more can you ask for?. By the way, thanks for providing that yummie homemade spicy tomato sauce – it was just faaantastic!.

Thanks Lisa for that wonderful experience. It was my second visit to Orroroo but my first stay at Nuccaleena Cottage and it was great – lovely cottage, lovely interior design, cosy woodfire and even a dvd library!! Too bad that we could just spend one night there. And unfortunately we were in such a hurry that we even forgot to take all our leftovers in the fridge with us. Oh well, I’m sure nana Edna doesn’t mind a few Coopers pale ales ;-)
