Orroroo, home to SA's biggest Gum Tree!

What a beauty! Now this is a must see when you are in Orroroo and the Flinders Ranges. It is believed that the tree is over 500 years old and has a circumference of 10.89 metres.

This area now has a brand new shelter with a large BBQ and under cover seating (as seen in pictures below). I read in the Goyder’s Line Gazette recently that the Council are going to put toilets there too soon. It’s a fantastic place to take the family and stop for a picnic lunch. Wonder how many people you would need to hug this tree???

When we were kids we used to love visiting this tree and it’s nice to see that the Council have made it into such a family friendly area.
